If your fic appears on SKZfics and you would like something corrected, updated, or removed, we want that process to be simple and respectful.
Submit an Author RequestOur approach
Authors should be able to control how their work is represented.
SKZfics is a discovery directory, not a fanfiction host. We link readers to the original work and display community-submitted recommendation information. If you are the author of a listed work, we will respect reasonable requests regarding that listing.
What you can request
Corrections, updates, or full removal.
Correct information
Ask us to correct inaccurate title, author, relationship, rating, status, word count, or other listing information.
Update a listing
If your fic has changed or completed since it was submitted, you can request that the SKZfics listing be updated.
Remove the listing
If you do not want your work listed on SKZfics at all, you may request that the listing be removed.
What removal means
Removing a listing does not affect the original fic.
SKZfics does not host the fic itself. Removing a listing from SKZfics only removes the recommendation and discovery entry from this directory.
Your original work remains exactly where you published it and remains under your control on that platform.
Verification
We may ask you to verify that you are the author.
To prevent someone else from removing or changing another creator's listing, we may ask for reasonable verification that the request is coming from the author.
Verification should be limited to what is necessary to confirm authorship. Please do not send passwords, private account credentials, government identification, or other sensitive personal information.
Reader recommendations
A recommendation is separate from the fic itself.
Some listings are created because a reader recommended your work. The recommendation text reflects that submitter's opinion and should be written in their own words.
However, if a recommendation contains harassment, copied text, major inaccuracies, spoilers presented irresponsibly, or other content that violates our guidelines, you may ask us to review it.
Requesting a change
Tell us which fic and what you need changed.
Use the author request form to send the fic link, your author name, a contact email, and the correction, update, or removal you're requesting.
Please do not send:
Passwords, login codes, private account credentials, government-issued identification, or other sensitive personal information.
No hard feelings
You do not need a special reason to ask for removal.
If you are the author and you simply do not want your work included in the SKZfics directory, that is enough. The goal of SKZfics is to make fic discovery more enjoyable — not to keep creators listed against their wishes.
